Focus on; Tom Ford

Fashion designer Tom Ford is widely recognised as saving Gucci from bankruptcy during his tenure with the brand, turning their fortunes from a failing fashion house into a brand worth billions. Spurred on by his success, Tom then went on to form his own brand focussing on clothing, fashion accessories and perfume.

Our focus, of course, lies on the Tom Ford eyewear range, which continues to innovate within the world of designer frames.

What styles of glasses does Tom Ford create?

Reimagining vintage styles and ensuring they are immediately recognised by the iconic metallic T crafted into the corners of the frame, the Tom Ford glasses collection offers all you could need from a designer frame. They provide the perfect balance between bold rimmed, boxy frames and boundary pushing large frames, with unique lens shapes.

As one of the first brands we stocked that offer the now popular butterfly shaped frames, Tom Ford continues to lead the way for other designers. It is their quality and meticulous attention to detail that really sets Tom Ford apart, with their brand name delicately stamped into the end of each arm.

Key pieces within the collection

The infinity cross-bridge design is a classic Tom Ford shape that is revisited across collections.  Suited to those that want something a little different without appearing too standout.

“A Single Man” glasses

Tom Ford's directing debut “A Single Man (2009)”, starred Colin Firth. The glasses worn by his character were surprisingly not created by Tom Ford - nor were they even selected for the character by the man himself, rather Colin Firth found the now iconic pair in a prop box. Following the film's success (and we imagine repeated requests for the frames), Tom decided 2 years later in 2011 to create the glasses. The shape and style has gone on to be reflected in his collections since.

Where are Tom Ford Glasses made?

Tom Ford has an ongoing close partnership with Marcolin, who craft the iconic eyewear from their Italian home, a company synonymous with excellence. The glasses are made to the highest standard, using top quality materials.

Who wears Tom Ford glasses?

Wearing Tom Ford puts you in good company, alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks and Jennifer Anniston, to name just a few.
You will also see them featured in the latest James Bond films, worn by the main man himself Daniel Craig. The most popular pair proving to be the Tom Ford Marko sunglasses, worn in Skyfall.

Where can I buy Tom Ford Glasses?

As an approved stockist of Tom Ford optical wear, we can certainly help. We have a wide range of Tom Ford glasses and sunglasses in stock, so you are welcome to come in store to our Norwich, Diss or Swaffham opticians to try on some Tom Ford glasses for size.

If you have seen a particular pair of glasses that you would like us to source, then please give us a call. We can usually get any style ordered into the branch within a few days. If you are interested in the latest Tom Ford collection, the best place to view it is directly at the manufacturer Marcolin then, providing they are still available for purchase, we are usually able to order them into our branches.

How to wear Tom Ford glasses

With confidence, darling.

Classic, glamorous and understated, a pair of Tom Ford glasses are the perfect accessory for any moment. The range has a style to suit all face shapes and tastes.

Cat-eye styles and round rimless or thin metal frames will suit heart shaped faces, whereas an oval frame would suit a square-shaped face. Round faces are balanced well with boxy, wider frames. If you have an oval face, why not try a bold butterfly shaped frame.

If you are unsure of which style would suit your face shape, our friendly team is here to help. We believe that the only way to really get a great fitting pair of glasses is to try them on in person, ideally alongside a companion for a second opinion and to take some pictures for you to review.  We have a huge selection of Tom Ford frames, from across the range and we won’t rush the process, to be sure that you find a pair that leave you feeling perfectly styled. Ultimately the main aim is to find a pair that suit your personality.
