Each year we nominate a Norfolk-based charity to support at Christmastime. And this year we have chosen St Martins, a local charity helping the homeless build a better life in Norwich and Norfolk.
During the season of goodwill, we’re kindly asking our clients to donate what they can, and help fund their Street Break initiative, whereby St Martins finds and pays for hotel accommodation to people who would otherwise be living on the streets. It runs throughout the winter.
For every pound donated this December and January, we will match it!
The charity’s CEO, Dr Jan Sheldon, says; “St Martins are delighted to be supported by Dipple & Conway Opticians and their customers. We are a Norfolk-based homelessness charity supporting people in hostels, residential care and in the community. All money raised this winter will go towards our Street Break initiative where we accommodate people in hotels who would otherwise be sleeping rough. This is a really important project, because it enables us to accommodate people for whom a hostel isn’t suitable or who have no recourse to public funds. We often find that when people accept a hotel room for a couple of nights, our team can work effectively with them to move them on to longer term housing. St Martins Street Break project can have a long-term impact on people experiencing homelessness in Norwich. In the colder months the offer of a warm, clean safe place to stay can save lives.”
Giving just a small amount, whatever you can, could help fund the start of a better life for someone living on the streets in Norfolk.

Thank you for supporting St Martins in any way you can and helping them to help people off the streets and into a warm bed this winter.
